I have a few random fears - birds for one. I actually cry if one comes near me. I hate them! Butterflies - not pretty at all but evil evil evil - freak me out.
I have a fear of blowing up balloons. I'm fine once they are blown up, but I have a fear of blowing them up (insert smutty laugh here is necessary!!). Its like I have a fear of suffocating or something. Maybe thats why I can't have collars or scarves tied too tight, and in school I was always in trouble for a having a really loose tie.
I also have a fear of magic. I know that sounds so silly, but I am such a rational person, and I don't like not being able to explain something. It freaks me out.

One of my seniors has a thing about bananas too. Me, I have two main phobias (though I suspect I might be a little claustrophobic as I have to have all my internal doors open as wide as I can get them all the time), heights (quite common) and balloons.
I can't even watch them on television. There have been no balloons put up since my sister and brother left home when I was 13. My nieces and nephews have had to get used to the idea of not having balloons when they come to stay with me or around me.
My local post office have recently had balloons up for a couple of weeks (they'd better be gone tomorrow when I go) and I've cringed the whole time I've been in.

I have globophobia, a fear of balloons, I can't walk past them, I went to my doctors surgery the other day and they had balloons up for No Smoking Day on either side of the reception and I had to ask the receptionist to come round as I couldn't walk in between them. Luckily she was really understanding and didn't make a big deal of it.
I also suffer from a really weird phobia, I suffer from arachibutyrophobia, this is a fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth. Honest it is a true phobia. I just can't eat the stuff in case it happens.

Do you remember the '3' mobile phone advert where that girl takes the cherry off the top of her cake and it starts singing 'If You Leave Me Now' from 'Chicago' (I think)? I'm totally phobic of that advert, I used to hide behind a cushion with my fingers in my ears, turn the tv right down/off or leave the room every time it came on!!! lol, I know it sounds strange but it totally freaks me out and I absolutely cannot listen to that song any more because I just think of the advert! I think that's probably my wierdest although when I was younger I did also used to be afraid of moths!

I was a watching an episode of Maury which was helping people getting over their "strange fear." One woman was scared of balloons, yes thats right, balloons. Theres a huge tv screen behind her where they showed a bundle of balloons, just on the tv screen. They told her to turn around and look at the screen and she ran off stage screaming!! I would have never thought anyone would be scared of balloons.

OMG yes, me! I have a ridiculous phobia of polystyrene! Not the bits that look like cheese puffs but the stuff that moulded and put in boxes to protect electronic devices! Huge problem when I brought my new computer! I was desperate to get it set up but couldn't unpack it until my husband came home!!!
Also, my mum and my auntie are both terrified of buttons!

I consider my own fear to be very weird - I am afraid of butterflies. Like, deathly afraid. I run screaming or hide behind people. I don't even like *fake* butterflies - if they're realistic looking whatsoever, I won't go near them. I'm told this results from a day when I was a child when one flew up in my face and scared me. (I'm 22 now)

I think that's O-A, overtly over acting! Why and what would you fear about banana?? She was just being a jerk, maybe just to get the attention of your husband.
I have fear of spiders and other creepy crawling creatures, but it's not obscure because they're really ugly and can even be fatal those poisonous creatures.

I'm a bit scared of milk - I wont use a carton that has been in the fridge, I will only use milk if I have opened it because I am really scared of drinking sour milk.
I have never drank sour milk but it is just the thought of this happening!
