concrete finishing?

hello i want to know the best way to finish concrete surfaces off i have been using a wet sponge and a long trowel to smooth over but sometimes it leaves streek marks and i would like someone to give me some tips on this cheers thanks

if a sponge is effecting it at all, you are enirily too wet. let it sit longer then trowel. how long depends on the size of the area.a 4 ft. by 6 ft. slab, you should be able to put full weight on it and only leave about a 1/4 in indention.

It depends on what you want the final surface to look like. For a smooth surface, use a wooden float. For a slightly rough surface, "scour" it with a broom.
