It depends on what colour it is. If it's white, paint thinner will take it right out. If the shirt is a different colour the paint thinner will take both the sap and the colour with it.

Try goo gone or a house hold stain treater. That may help lift it out. If all else fails try using ice to lift it out, just like gum.

I think I would try Goo Gone first. Then I'd try something like gasoline. My mom used to soak my dads work clothes in it and it got all the tar off of them. Tree sap can't be worse than tar, right? After all, the shirt is already ruined....What do ya have to loose? Good luck.
