Cons believe that if you do not believe the same as them that you are unpatriotic, traitors, and other wise demented. This great country of ours has room for people to believe or not to believe in anything that they wish.

No, freedom of speech should not be restricted in any way. If we start doing things like this we will end up going back to what has happened for centuries, the persecution of other people for their beliefs. For example, the Catholic Church never allowed the Protestants to criticize their religion, and look what happened they were burned at the stake. Reasons like this is why we have the First Amendment, and why we should never allow it, or the Constitution, to be restricted in anyway.

No criticism of Christianity should not be illegal. If one truly feels something is wrong or right with being a Christian or with Christian teachings they have the absolute right to state their opinion. The only way the this should be impeded is if the speaker is trying to incite violence against Christians. Freedom of speech has certain limits. Such as not inciting violence or criminal activity. Of course, one would assume putting state secrets in the newspaper might be a violation of free speech.

I am Conservative.
The freedom of speech is restricted in many ways, ie you cannot endanger others while exercising your free speech (FIRE in a crowded theater, etc.) I believe these restrictions are necessary.
And no, I do not think that criticism of Christianity should be illegal.
Why did you direct this question at Conservatives?

Your question is dishonest and irrelvant.
I have NEVER heard anyone - conservative or liberal - make such a mindless proposal.
Why should Christians NOT ask that they not be demeaned , ridiculed and persecuted?
They are the ONLY section of our population who are villified without any reaction from the vaiiant liberals who scream for tolerance in every other situation...except situations when Chritians are abused and insulted (usually because those doing the abusing are LIBERALS!)

Yes, I believe college professors should be restricted from saying anything that offends me, especially in matters concerning my religion. The punishment should be censorship. Do it twice, and lose your tenure. How's that for tolerance?

Cons, being of the low IQ that they are, fail to realize that "freedom of speech" has to do with the government not restricting it. So there should never be a constitutional amendment to change it.
