my ipod is locked and I forgot the password since I haven't used it in a year. what can I do?

after I unplug it from my computer It is locked again, more importantly how can I change the password once Ive unlocked it?

Plug it into the primary computer (whichever computer you first synced it with). If iTunes doesn't open automatically, open it manually. Make sure your iPod syncs with the computer (if you have it set to manually manage music and playlists, you might need to right-click/sync on the iPod name in the left menu bar). Once it has finished syncing with the primary computer, it will be unlocked.

Alternately, if you no longer have the primary computer, or you've reinstalled the OS in the meantime, when the iPod docks with iTunes, you'll need to click the Restore button to reset everything (including the lock) to factory settings.

reset it by turning your hold button on and off, then hold your menu button and middle wheel for about 6 seconds until the apple logo appears. you should be unlocked. click english and you are on your way.

all you have to do is plug it into your computer, and it will unlock it for you
