Because it is just another day no matter how you look at it the day doesn't change you do but the day doesn't it just represents the day you where born that's all. whats so special about that every body has a birthday.

you get older and realize your not special and life doesnt stop anymore because of your birthday, same thing happend to me, but i was younger. It kind of hits you that you still have to go to work and people still have stuff to do and the world doesnt relaly care all that much... but the people around you still care so celebrate for them and ultimatley it will make you happy.

i've been experiencing the same thing since i left childhood...
i never get presents anymore...only, sometimes...my dad takes the whole family out for a special dinner
last year, i only got two present and no special dinner even though it was the thoughest period of my life (family problem+major exam coming my way)...i got a nice notebook (as in book) and a free Cadbury stationary set...sad huh?

It happened to me last year. It was actually disappointing, I haven't felt that little "birthday excitement".
I guess that's what growing older does.
