What's stopping you from becoming a brain surgeon? You support hospitals and curing disease, don't you? So what are you waiting for?
What's stopping you from becoming a garbage man? You believe that trash should be disposed of, don't you? So what are you waiting for?
What's stopping you from becoming an accountant? You believe that finances should be tracked properly, don't you? So what are you waiting for?
What's stopping you from becoming a police officer? You believe that criminals should be captured, don't you? So what are you waiting for?
It's not possible for people to personally do everything that they believe should be done. But the same way that you can believe that criminals should be captured, without personally joining the police force to go capture them, you can believe that terrorists and rogue nations should be stopped without personally being the one to do it.
Everyone should pick the career that they think will enable them to make the best contribution to society. And for people who do not have the talent or temperament to join the military, we should all show our respect and gratitude to those who do.

almost the entire international became that is back on the U. S. related to Iraq, why would desire to India be any different? India isn't a rustic that many times fights different usa's battles! it may be tremendously unusual foe it to connect in to combat somebody who isn't their enemy. the place are you getting those good relation fantasies, paricularly Iran. it incredibly is a rustic that has been a extreme adversary of the U. S. on account that 1979, how is it which you coorleate this with progression? I doubt that India has any purpose of being area of a coalition for any reason no longer to point to construct have confidence with the U. S. or different NATO powers.

Military enlistment over the last five years have been at record-breaking highs....so, many ARE joining up.
Being a soldier is a career choice like any other.
It also has certain requirements and restrictions.
Many can not join because of those limits.
The notion that you can't have an opinion on the war without actually serving is ludicrous on its face, and, quite frankly, would impact and impede liberal participation in the debate far more than it would that of conservatives.

Good question, however there were some people ho did join the military such as Pat Tillman and others like the prince of wales, i believe the ones who support the war the must are the ones who know that there is not a chance for them to go and that is exactly why they do it, they should create a military branch to sent all these people that support the war yet they know they are too old to join and see how their perception of war changes.

It could be that the military doesn't take 60 year olds. I would go if I could. By the way anti-war demonstrators are not traitors but I do think they are wrong.

This is the same juvenile logic that some use to justify the "if you don't support the war, you should join al Queda" argument.
Grow up a little. You'll find the world is not such a Black & White place...

I tried to enlist but couldn't due to physical issues. For one thing, I can't properly aim and shoot a rifle. I was luckier than my sister. She had Multiple Sclerosis.
So I did the next best thing. I became a military wife and enabled someone else to serve for over 20 years.
Even if my problems went away today, I'm too old to enlist now.
Did YOU serve?

I'm not the right age, and I have a responsibility to care for a severely handicapped daughter. We have an all volunteer service, so everyone who supports the countries efforts to subdue terriorists, dont have to enlist. I guess you would be happier if the USA was the brunt of the terriorists attacks.
