chemistry is really a hard subject to understand and study. this is because chemistry is more of analysis than memorization. yeah, you need to memorize some formulas but the formulas given would not function if you do not know how to use them and if you do not know how to analyze.

so i suggest, being a chemical engineering student, your sister should study chemistry with full concentration. she should familiarize herself with the formulas that are useful in this subject. and she should always practice answering problems in chemistry.ü

tell her that chemistry is not memorizatiion, it should be more of analysis and familiarizing herself with the formulas.

Read the book, highlight the book, and do practice problems from the back of the book. Also, don't use the books assigned in school. Buy a college textbook such as Zumdahl (the best book available) and use that.

For organic chemistry, write out important reactions on index cards and keep them somewhere safe for the final exam. Review these index cards often. This is not necessary for general chemistry.

well, this is my advice:
theory: clear notes... make sure all the important words are listed (some times they get really picky on that). the way to do them depends on your sister. some ppl prefer bullet points, others full text and others find it easier to use tree diagrams etc.
experimenes: I think the best way is to summarize reactants, conditions, observations and some general stuff about what is happening inside. if you need to learn a series of chain reactions (e.g. the organic bit) a summary tree diagram is very usefull - include only reactants and conditions (e.g. NaOH, heat under reflux)
calculations & exercises: sorry but in here only lots of practice helps... it is not necessary to keep the papers, u can just do them and then through it away... its just to get familiar with all the possible things they can ask and the different methods to solve the problem.

good luck!

atleast 6 days before exams..nd not before that so that u dont forget all the reactions... this is the last subject to be studied in ur time table ...especially the organic section..else ull be screwed up to the core,..and i can assure u on that remark dude!nd listen do make a seperate book for and write down all the main reactions...it will fetch u! nd yes.. study this subject when u are fresh enough and do it for atleast 4 hours a day not more... just to keep ur normal brain work normal....so the policy is " STUDY LESS BUT PERFECTLY"

Well first, it might not be a good idea to announce your younger sisters size on the Internet. I mean come on! An extra large! How rude of you! What if your younger sister posted your size on the Internet! XXL maybe?? Now how would you feel about that??

shame.

go over it every day. if you try and cram it all in it doesn't work as well. If you do a little bit each day you're going to understand it better, and that is normally reflected when it comes to test time.
