Why does it seem that the only place where nudity is shown in American movies are in horror films?

Because most guys don't wanna go and watch drama movies. Most drama movies have some good boobage in them. Usually more love making nudity than horror movies. Some comedies have nudity, but now there's this growing trend to make horror and comedy movies PG13. There's lots of nudity in chick flicks, but men never find out this cause they don't wanna go see a chick flick. It's like they're afraid of it. I think chick flicks are the real horror movies.

Not sure about your horror movie theory, but America as a whole is a country that is very sexually repressed.
Porn is a multi-billion dollar a year industry and so many people still look at it as taboo. Even though we're more open about it now than ever, we still tend to keep our attraction to porn quiet because nudity & sex in the mainstream is still frowned upon.
I'm not saying we should see full blown sex scenes on prime time TV, but damn, there's shows that will show an entire boob with only the aereola & nipple covered. Give me a break, might as well show it.

Not sure what you are watching, but sure sounds like you rent too many horror flicks and not enough drama or any other category in the R rated section as there is lots of nudity.

Its simple, in the USA, nudity kills you.

Look at horror films. The sluts always die, and it is mostly a consequence of them having sex. Hell, even Scream and Scary Movie mentionned it. It's just a very propaganda like way of trying to have people see sex as a dangerous thing.

In every teen movie, sex turns out to ruin a relationship, or it gets the girl pregnant. You never see young couples having a healthy sex life in american movies.
