I think it's cause.. we aren't content with it being that way.
That things are so out of our control.

Then we get really frustrateD, I suppose.
And we'll find a way to let it out.. even if it means hurting ourselves and the people around us while we're at it.
Even though we know for a faCt that there's nothing we can do about it, having that knowledge just makes it worst. Because it's like, no matter how hard we try to grasp hold of it, the "what-if" possibilities in our minds, it just slips away.

And it gets so annoying and we get all worked up. Could it be?

This is an age old question. To the point that there is a prayer that I believe is attributed to St. Francis that goes something like this:
" God grant me the strength to change the things I can change accept the things I cannot and the wisdom to know the difference" It is the ONLY prayer that means anything to me.

You answer your own question. Because we can't control these things. It's human nature to be curious, and also dominant over every aspect of life. When things are out of our hands, or unavoidable such as death, it becomes a fear for us.

The human spirit sometimes must want what it cannot have, otherwise it would be incapable of achieving what it can.
