Yes on the first one - Nomar is not going to put up worthy fantasy numbers as most other first basemen and AJ will provide the depth you need

NO!!! to the second one - Betemit may do decent this season, but Markakis is projected to have a breakout season this year... he will be hitting third for BAL and have plenty of RBI chances and may end up being a .300 avg, 30 HR, 100 RBI guy...

I would not drop Nomar. He can be some valued trade bait. The MarKakis is a good add and Drop. (BTW Garciaparra is better then Swisher) And you should use Kendrick as a 2ber.

In other words Keep Nomar and you can trade Nick Markakis and someone else to better a SS. Dont drop him outright. He is going to have a good year. Think 90-20-90-10. (you dont need a back up catcher till you lose your catcher.

On the first one, yes. Garciaparra is really done as a viable fantasy option, and you are well covered there anywhere. Pierzynski will add the depth you want.

On the second, I'll say no. Markakis has HUGE breakout potential this year. You have depth at OF, but outright dropping Markakis would be a mistake. At least trade. Betemit is a decent pickup, but not one you need to jump on just yet.

If I were you, I would drop Nomar and pick up a descent starting pitcher because back-up catchers usually don't merit a bench spot because they generally have low fantasy output. I'm suggesting that you pick up a pitcher because bench pitchers are much more valuable than position players due to the fact they only pitch once or twice a week.

If you feel the need for infield depth, I would suggest trading one of your outfielder's away because at this point of the season, they are all too valuable to drop.

I'm assuming that you are in a head-to-head league. The strategy may be different in a rotisserie league.
