imagine say man utd were playing against any team at the bottom half of the league ? utd would be playing against 11 defenders, the lesser team playing for the penalties in hope of snatching 3 points using a crazy new rule that would totally ruin any fans enjoyment , would be very boring and unfair . i for one would never watch football again ! is this to please the American audience? they"ve already got becks. i pray this stupid idea is thrown out of the window .

This is an awful idea. It would result in boring games where the weaker away side would just park the team bus in front of the goal to draw the game then hope to win on penalties. Why we need to 'americanise' the ENGLISH game of football is anyones guess, but it would truly be a turn off

It's a bad idea, not just for the reasons given by others but also, think how easy a betting coup would be if it came down to penalties. There's enough temptation out there already, with Far East outfits looking for easy money.

It's a crazy idea - one of the most stupid the FA have ever had. I just hope it never comes into use. I think football fans should threaten to boycott all matches if the chumps at the FA actually go ahead with this.

Its the most stupid thing I have ever heard, it would kill the game, Just think with 10 minutes to go and its 0-0 both teams would sit back and take there chances on pens! Dont think this idea will take off!!!!

It's a ridiculous idea. I don't know which bright spark came up with it, but they are just meddling for the sake of meddling. There is absolutely nothing wrong with draws in football.

Not a good idea at all. Makes you wonder what the powers that be,do all day if that's what they come up with...If it's not broke don't fix it.
