What does it mean when someone says that you have "quiet strength"?

A nurse told me that dad had said this about me before he passed away last month.

Ohhh Don,I know my daddy did not mean it in that way because he KNOWS how emotional and loving i am.He called me "the peacemaker" of the family. Thanks anyways though.

That you don't advertise your accomplishments or your tribulations...that you let your actions speak for you. That you can let people (well...most people...lol) judge you by using common sense to see what you have gone through and how you conduct yourself when faced with adversity.

Basically...you aren't a crisis oriented, drama queen.

It means you can remain inwardly calm in the face of great storms. That you don't lose control and get lost in the emotional drama of life's curveballs.

To many this means that they show no external signs of emotion. To me this is not always a good thing.

Emotions exist to protect us.
