many dems want a government ran program.. many cons are ok with the government giving people money and letting them pick their own private program... well what if people picked their private program and those programs sent the bill to the government... then you don't have to worry about people spending the money on something else like so many dems fear they may.. and it's still private health care like the republicans want..... sound like a decent bipartisan plan to you?

I am for it, I already pay welfare tax and get nothing for it.Every body should be put on this system including the Government, then it would be equal everybody would get the same care because if Government employees had to use it they would make sure it worked.

I am absolutely against the government getting into the field of health care whatsoever, under any circumstances, no way, nyet, nada, period.

By the way, if you bother to look at the constitution, where will you see it listed anywhere that one of the powers of the federal government is to provide for the health care of its citizens? It doesn't. Plus it says that any power not specifieed therein is RESERVED to the STATEs and to the INDIVIDUAL.

So, there are only two entities that should be even considering this. Individual States legislatures. Or each individual on a person by person basis. And probably the issue should be placed as a referenum on a state by state basis.

Keep the federal government out of it, it is none of their business and should they push it through, will make a total mess out of it, just like social security and medicare, both just about broke with no hope in sight to fix it, if indeed it can be fixed without just throwing more money at it through more and higher taxes, which is the governments only solution to ANY problem.

I don't want the Government involved in my health care al all.
They get too bloated and there is NEVER a way for Gov to correct itself.
With more competition among medical groups the cost will be kept lower if we do not interfere. HMO's helped stabilize rising costs. We need the private sector to come up with ways to curb costs while making services available to everyone.

No it doesn't. Frankly I want the feds out of all areas of my life. Taxes should only be collected to pay for things that effect the whole country. These would be the military, the postal service, interstate transportation, creating money and catching forgers. We should not allow the feds into our schools or our homes. Federal taxes should not go to welfare and federal laws should not govern who gets welfare. Paying for my medical care is my responsibility. Not the federal governments. Social Security is another federal tax which needs to be overhauled. (I am 60 and I can see this don't know why someone who is already retired can't see it.)

So, how does the government get the money to pay these bills? I pick my private insurance, they bill the government.

Sounds great. Until taxes go through the roof to pay for it. And guess who pays taxes in America? Not poor people, that's for sure.

I would much prefer a system where the middle-class is kept wealthy enough to support their own healthcare plan. A national healthcare plan would be as inefficient as the social security system.

I would like a guarantee on limited healthcare...like preventative helathcare in the form of vaccines, check ups for children, etc...I don't want it to replace the choice of private, and I don't want it to be tax funded...just affordable and available to all working people.
