You have answers from people that obviously know the importance of preserving the past.
It's not just saving a building or a photo it's saving a memory........I save Old coins so that someday my grandchildren can pass it down from generation to generation and will be able to say " this is what money used to look like" It's a memory for them! A memory of what the past was like.
My grandma always use to say" If people didn't make mistakes they wouldn't put erasers on pencils" I still preserve that memory of her and use the expression myself.
****Formal defination of Past*****

past (pst) KEY
ADJECTIVE:
No longer current; gone by; over: His youth is past.
Having existed or occurred in an earlier time; bygone: past events; in years past.
It is so much more than a defination...Looking to the future is fine and remembering the past helps us not make the same past mistakes.
Hope this explanation is of some help
Having 68 years of memories of the past.

The past is what our future is based on. If we make the same mistakes from the past then we will never be able to progress in the future. We are the few species that transfer information through out the generations and that is what keeps us the leading species in the world.
The past are events that weve already seen.
We cannot look into the future with out first reviewing our past. the past always effects the future. We should look into the future because it will lead to new discoveries, that will also become part of our history.

If we don't preserve the past then how will future generations learn about it? They say history repeats itself and by what I have seen...it does! Just my opinion here, but I do think its appropriate to learn history if we will one day be doing those things all over again. It may be in a different fashion but still the same concept.

devoid of the previous there would be no destiny! each little thing that became has been, each little thing it incredibly is would be, and each little thing which would be, would be. the factor of no longer preserving the previous is incorrect good judgment, that is defeatism at that is worst. it incredibly is assuming the previous had/has no fee and that issues would be greater advantageous interior the destiny. in case you don't comprehend the previous you could no longer say what the destiny will carry. in case you hold making a similar errors you will never succeed interior the destiny. And once you're making a mistake you will ignore it and look to the destiny.you would be caught in a vicious cycle.

preserving the past is essential! how do you know whats good and whats bad if you do not remember the trials? we would inevitably repeat the mistakes of the past if we do not work towards preserving it and making it known to everyone!

for example : The Holocaust! everyone should know about the Holocaust so that we do not repeat it!

He who does not learn from the past is doomed to repeat it.

The past is any event that we can remember in any way. Which is to say that the future is the whole of all events that we cannot yet remember.

It is important to look to our future, but it is also important to understand our past. We need to understand what we have done in the past so that we learn from our triumphs and mistakes.
