I believe that we can't judge the situation by taking a few examples. It depends on the skills of the person and it has nothing to do with the gender.

No, men make better managers ! I have worked for both & have had very little problem with the male managers . The women just cant seem to do the job properly.. not saying they are all like that but in my experience so far thats my opinion

Not necessarily. I think men and women tend to rely on different skill sets to manage other people. Of course, this too is a broad generalization. You will find that in some industries or companies, there is an established culture that very much affects managers' leadership styles.

Generally speaking it depends on the situation. Women are better than men at just sitting there. If buisness runs fine a manager that feels he needs to do something might be a bad move in this case a woman who just sits there is better. However if deals need to be made and decisions need to be taken as lets say a high profile manager maybe even ceo I wuld go with a man.

Well, I am probably going to take alot of heat for this answer since I am a woman, but in my own experience, the majority of the time, men made better managers. But, I think alot of it depends on the person and the type of business. Up until starting my own business a year ago, I had worked outside the home for about 20 years. I had mostly men as bosses and a couple of woman that were bosses/supervisors. Three woman in particular stand out in my mind as "bosses from hell." One had a super-ego, and if you made a mistake that she had to take the heat for (which in turn made HER look bad) then she would call you names every time she passed you in the hall, and other than that, would not speak to you until she was over being mad about whatever you screwed up. Another supervisor was constantly on a power-trip and played favorites. She had alot of pull with the boss, and if she had it in for you, you were doomed, no matter what. The third supervisor was a perfectionist, and told me from day one that she couldn't stand to be wrong or make a mistake, and it became abundantly clear to me (from day one) that she would NOT tolerate this in other people. In my experiences, men handled position and power better than the women. Plus, if you call in sick, a male boss is likely to just say "okay" and not ask for details - it's just too much information for them. But that is just my personal experience.

I think women are better at coordinating groups and getting everyone to agree, although men might be better at delegating work. It's really decided on an individual basis. I know that I'm a better leader than many guys I know.
