go to http://en.venere.com/italy/ It has everything you need and most hotels on this site offer online booking to help you even further! It will also tell you distances to landmarks etc. Great website for anywhere in Europe also. You can also filter your search by ratings on the hotels, from 1 to 5 star hotels. even 5 star Luxury hotels if there are any available!

Good luck!

Check out the Hotel Villa Parco on the island of Lido. It is roughly 30 euros a night and very quiet. It is a quaint little hotel that feels like a larger bed and breakfast. I loved it! Since the hotel is on Lido, you'll be stuck paying for the water taxi to get to Venice, but I think it was well worth it. After a day wandering around the crowded streets of Venice it was nice to just be a fifteen minute boat ride from our quiet residence.

Enjoy your trip!

I cant remember the name of the hotel I stayed in because it was a few years ago now, but if you have a look at the Lido area (about 20 minutes by boat from venice) you'll find good quality hotels much cheaper than you would in Venice itself.

Enjoy your trip

The rates vary wildly according to the time of year you are going, but I was pleasantly surprised by these hotels when I stayed in them.

They are nice, reasonably priced (certainly for Venice), well located and part of the Best Western chain.

Albergo San Marco, just behind St. Marks Square on Ponte dei Dai.

Ala, near the Calle Gritti, on Campo Santa Maria del Giglio.

Montecarlo, edge of St. Marks Square, on Calle Specchierri.

that's a touch off the subject count. Sorry :/ truthfully, the resorts are no longer something like American resorts. I stay in Vegas so in keeping with risk my standards are a touch severe. i became a touch bowled over to work out the resorts in Italy (Rome, Florence, & Vicenza) are VERY small. The 'Queen' sized mattress is truthfully 2 twins prepare.I stayed at a 4 famous man or woman hotel in Florence and that i awakened at 2am lined in mosquieto bites. So extremely the place ever you reside may be the comparable. Small, No AC, Italian television, and fairly some the time no bathe, purely a bath. additionally, in case you could.. Florence is approximately 3 hours away, by using prepare, and that's one hell of an adventure! What a brilliant place to bypass to. extremely effortless to get around and the individuals are very friendly. Rome on the different hand.. we could purely say i'm going to by no ability bypass decrease back.
