As Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young say just "carry on."
If it is a failure in the spiritual sense (i.e. I sinned or hurt someone) then I handle that situation by asking forgiveness from them and God and by doing penance.
If it is a failure in the general sense (i.e. interviewed for a job and didn't get it) I learn what I can from the experience and then busy myself with the next task at hand.
I always try to remind myself by looking at the past that so many things I viewed simply as failures actually had good results in the end. I think especially about past relationships that I'm SO glad I'm not in anymore although at the time I felt sad and couldn't understand why it had failed. But now I know it wasn't a good thing.

I get pretty pissed most of the time. There's really nothing that I can do that makes me feel better about it. That is if your looking for advise on the subject, time, time, and more time. I was making 50+ grand a year running a department store, just got my car completely paid off, my family was back together and I was debt free something that I had been working for over 5 years to accomplish. 5 car accidents (none of which was my fault) and a divorce in the span of 4 months. I lost EVERYTHING (If your looking for a happy ending stop reading now) I pretty much didn't leave bed for 3 months & contemplated suicide. I did get back on my feet though. I currently make minumum wage at a fast food resturant, no car, no family, in debt up to my ***. I went from a 2 bedroom to studio apartment. It sucks but believe it or not I feel fine and still have plans for the future. There's a saying that I think goes "when man plans god laughs".

I always felt like a failure because of my family and friends who keep pressuring me 2 study hard. I was so stressed i kept writing in my diary with many negative thoughts. Then one day my mum saw my diary and she read it. She confronted me and that day she understood my feelings and she didn't pressure me so much as last time. So i guess the best way 2 handle failures in life is to talk to someone and maybe write in a diary/journal. It helps a lot.

mistakes and failures are inevitable the only way to not experience these is to do absolutely nothing. Failing, is part of the learning experience, how do I deal with failure?? I suck every lesson from it that is possible, I fess up and tell others so that they might offer feedback to make the lesson more complete AND because i don't wish to see others suffer the indignities of making the same mistake that I just did. I also take to heart the lessons offered by the mistakes of others.

First, acknowledge the failure. Feel the pain of that hurt. Then be proactive, instead of reactive. What could you have done differently? What can you do in the future to ensure that the same results don't happen....and I agree with the other fella, in the grand scheme of things....it obviously was meant to be a leason...if you don't learn it the first time, at first it whispers....if you don't learn it then...it starts to scream. Don't let things get to that point....learn when it whispers, it's much less painful.
Good luck

Aloha from Down Unda!
Flat refusal to 'accept' failure has limited abilities & experiances to 'deal' with it...
Probably, merely recognising certain limitations beyond controls allows comfort in ADJUSTMENTS to accept 'alternate' successes or intermediate goals.
Successes are achieved through persistant focus faithfully in
~ the futility of folly
~ taking positive actions to position for opportunities
[without being shackled by dwelling on shortcommings, negativity & dimwittedness.]
We are breathing. We ARE succeeding.
FORCE YOURSELF!
Best wishes ~

Get upset for a while, then leave it behind and keep walking.
Thats the only thing you can do with just about any kind of setback.
