Well they call him The Duke, and in my books he's one of the all time greats, a legend in his own lifetime, and yes very very right he should be knighted and so become Sir David Bowie. Wow that would make my year! Top one dude.

I think Elton John got knighted not for his music but for his sweeping environmental efforts. Although Bowie is a great singer what has he done to deserve knighthood?

I am not sure if that would happen, David does have a bit of a shady past, but I do agree that Mr Bowie is a legend, a demigod in fact, I am one of the lucky ones who have seen him live. (",)

As much as I love Bowie, I really wouldn't want him to be knighted - I think it's quite cool that he isn't - it's like he's above that sort of accolade. Besides, even if he was offered, do you think that he would accept it?

If you were to judge based on songs, yes he would make a pretty good candidate to be 'knighted' as a Sir (or whatever they do now).
