I've called some doctor's offices where I live, and they have told me I don't need to see someone until I'm 9 or 10 weeks pregnant. Does this sound normal?

I actually couldn't get in to see the OBGYN until 10 weeks. They were so booked. I found out I was pregnant in early September and didn't actually go into the office until the end of September. So yes it sounds normal to me. I think they would have gotten me in sooner but the appointments were so booked.

i call my doctor office to tell them i am pregnant and wanted to conform i was pregnant to make appointment and then had to blood test..and utrine test and had to make appointment for my in-takes and my know my family history and more blood test.. so some places will make appointment to ask you to go in to make sure you are preganant and get some blood and utrine test.. I had that done before.. None of my doctor office i went to or OBGYn office said that to me... There should be problem with that office... You find another places.. because i where i go they make appointments for me to go in for month check up.. and if you do not if know how many weeks you.. so do you know you are 9-10 weeks.. And that the first three month is going to be hard because a miscarriage can happen.. so you should be seeing doctor to conform and make sure your body is doing well and you should start taking folic acid

i'm not really sure but what they told you is probably right. by then, the pregnancy is more established with less of a chance of miscarriage i guess. i didn't know i was pregnant till i was more than 5 months so that was the first time i went and everything was still fine, no complications or problems, so don't worry about it. you can go ahead and start taking over the counter prenatal vitamins if you want.

With my first pregnancy I saw the OB/GYN as soon as I got a positive hpt. But with my second, I waited until 3 months.

i ask my doctor the same question and he told me after about 6 weeks. so that when he does an ultrasound the pic i saw would look more like a baby and i would enjoy it better. but he had already put me on prenatal vitamins.

I was 9 weeks with my first (I didn't find out though until I was 8.5 weeks) and 6 weeks with my current pregnancy.
