I stayed in the pyramid once just because it looked like it might be neat to stay in. It was a mistake. A rather poor room/experience and I haven't been back since.

The Luxor is an average hotel if you get a room in the "newer part" which is the Tower rooms but if you get a Pyramid room, be prepared for the casino noise and smell from the casino as well. I was at the Luxor during Fall 2006 and stayed in the Tower side of the hotel. The pool is smaller than I expected. Navigation around the casino and food level was a bit difficult for me, they were doing a bit of construction so that might have been the reason why I got lost 3 times trying to find the elevator to my room. The good thing is that it is connected to the Mandalay Bay and Excalibur by the Tram (which is free).
I probably would not stay there again though if given the opportunity to go elsewhere. I have stayed at Stratosphere, Treasure Island, Aladdin, The Venetian, and The Luxor.

My husband and I stayed at Luxor last summer. It was okay - and it was kind of cool to stay in a pyramid. The only problem that I had with it was that you had to walk half way around the casino to get to the inclinators and to get to the room, we had to walk halfway back around...didn't dare forget anything!
You can read all about our trip (and check out some of the photos of the Luxor) at TripAdvisor.com (linked below). You may want to check out the reviews that others gave as well.

Stayed there once and really liked it. The room was spacious and clean. I liked the shopping and activities they had and the gambling was decent. My favorite thing though had to be the SPA! My girlfriends and I received free admissions on check in and used them our last night there. We went down about 11:00pm and stayed until 1:30-2:00am. I'd assume that it's still the same, but they had a steam room, dry sauna, jacuzzi, numerous showers each with different aromatherapy scents. It also included all the drinks you wanted (water, juices, etc.) and snacks. (fresh fruit, granola bars, etc.) You could also schedule a massage for an additional charge, but we were having such a great time with all the other things we didn't opt for that. It was one of the best last nights in Vegas we had because we had a early morning flight out and we were completely relaxed before heading back to reality......I mean home. :)
Hope you have a great time!

I have stayed there once. If you have a room in the tower your all set. If you have a room in the pyramid then I found the room to be load, due to the shape all of the noise from the casino filters up to the hallways and rooms. Since I have stayed at Mandalay Bay, Hard Rock, Treasure Island and Mirage(Sucks). Hope you have a great time.

ive stayed in the luxor several times. I like both the pyramid rooms and the newer rooms in the hotel. It is a nice place to stay. Its connected to both mandalay bay and the excalibur, so its like you are staying in each place. Also, its really close to everything..

I have stayed there twice. I stayed in the pyramid both times and I liked it. One of the things you need to remember is which escalator to take. I didn't have any problem with noise or smoke. If you like a nice place at a decent price, this is a pretty good casino hotel.

The Luxor is awesome---I've stayed there. The only reason I wouldn't stay there again is their pool. Its not as nice as I expected it to be. The rooms are nice...beds comfy and their staff is very friendly.

I liked it. I stayed there in 1999 and found it a good deal for the money. Security is also top-notch - they pay attention to who is going in the elevators and maximize their guests' safety. I went with my mom, and when we getting ready to go upstairs one night, there was a group of drunk guys ahead of us, security made us wait for the next elevator so we didn't get in with the drunks, but in such a way it wasn't obvious.
