What do I need to get a frog terrarium going? Keeping it cheap, yet healthy for it. I'm thinking about getting one of those cute little $10 fellers. ^_^

Green tree frogs are usually less than $10 also, and they don't need a light. They just need a nice tall terrarium, to be misted at least once daily, a water dish, some fake or real limbs to climb on, and you can either buy some dirt for the floor or simply use brown paper towels as an inexpensive and easy to clean flooring. They eat crickets, which is about $1 a dozen, that you would need to buy a couple times a week.

Hey, rude answers are stupid.... >.< lol

I am thinking about the same thing, how funny! I would get a 20gal aquarium, tall, (or a 29gal, which is what i have) and a screen top, so they cant escape. You wont need a light, so thats a really good thing, as it will keep cost WAY down.

Also, for substrate, place about 1/2" of aquarium gravel for drainage, some spagnum moss(wrong spelling), and then about one or two inches of clean potting soil. I think you can get it at a greenhouse, but it has to be clean of ANY chemicals, or it may kill your frog. You can also go the way of the herp enthusiest, and get coco fiber stuff, for humidity. It works wonders!

I would get some sticks from outside to decorate, as well as rocks and little things. I would look into the kinds of live plants that arent toxic and plant one or two in there, for oxygen and humidity. The screen top should be half covered in seran wrap to keep in humidity.

Have fun

well it depend on what kind of frog you ant to get. i guess the 10$ fellers are fire belly ? if so you only need rocks at the bottom and about 2inches of water and some plant (artificial work fine ) so that they can hide . i had mine in a small fish tank that was cover with only rock and water and 1 Small plant for a while . not to long cause i was re doing my aquarium to fit other frog to .so you need to check exactly what kind you getting but fire belly are the easiest for beginner. and fire belly don't like to be alone so you should think about maybe getting 2

That would depend on the tye of frog. I have a pair of fore belly toads. I keep them in a 10 gallon aquarium. I have half of the tank with large fish gravel. The other half of the tank has 3 inces of water in it. Thet way thry have land and water. I have guppies in the water for them to eat. I also have a fire belly newt that lives with them as well.
