My duaghter is 16 and when I chaperone school events, they always think I am a student and not a parent. I am looking for something I can do with my hair or make-up to look more mature.

My sister-in-law is the same way. She's 37 and has an 18 year old daughter. Everyone thinks they're sisters. The only difference is that my sister-in-law loves looking young. I think the main reason people think my sister-in-law is so young is because she has long hair. People associate long hair with youthfulness. So, my main suggestion would be to change your hairstyle. Tear out pictures in magazines and do a search for "hairstyles" on the internet. Pick styles that you think are mature. Go to a hairstylist and get a new 'do.

Do the boys try to pick you up? You should be glad. Plus, at least you can go to parties/nightclubs without looking like an idiot. Remember, it's not how old you are or how old you feel that people respond to, it's how old you look. In my opinion, the visual effect of someone's appearance is more powerful than the actual knowledge of how old the person is. So if you look 21 at 37, it wouldn't seem as unnacceptible if you acted much younger, even if people knew you were 37.

Dang! How long have you ever been seeing this guy? in case you have basically all started attending to be responsive to him tell him to decelerate. It would not look as while you're arranged for all that basically yet, or you won't have published this question. do not worry approximately what your loved ones will think of till you get to be responsive to him greater helpful. in the event that they insist on assembly him, invite him over for dinner, if he's particularly severe approximately you, he won't have a project with it. Take it sluggish, you have various time, it form of looks like he's the only in a hurry. under no circumstances ever overlook, you have the top hand. sturdy good fortune!

I had the same "problem" for a long time. Now, it is no longer a problem. I sure don't look 21 any more, but I look probably 10 years younger than I actually am. It's a gift, NOT a liability.

Find a hairstyle that says I'm 37 but fabulous , also try wearing hills with boot cut jeans and a dressy shirt . It is the appearance that is confusing people . Update yourself as a lady do not dress the way your daughter and her friends dress , find your own style . Good Luck !!!

Updo's with sexy bangs are usually good for creating a more mature look. But honey, are you serious? I work around GOBS of people that would love to have your problem. I say don't change, keep that, because one day, you're gonna wish you still looked 21!

Silly, :) enjoy it while it lasts. It should also help you bond with your daughter. But that's not very helpful is it, you could try; not wearing bright shades of make up or cloths. And either wearing your hair up/back or cutting your hair short (!!) I cut my hair really short recently, like a few inches from my scalp cause I was growing out my natural color and it aged me drastically!! I went into shock, so think about it good!

I like that you asked what you could do to make yourself look more "mature" and not "older."

Starting at the top with hair. Shorter hair tends to make you look more mature. Chose a style that acccentuates your eyes.

Do you often swap clothes with your daughter? That may be one reason you get confused for a younger person. There are lots of fun clothes out there for more mature women that won't make you look matronly.
