I am a student reporter from N.I.E. Times of India, and I need interviews of people from India on the following topic:

After India did badly on Saturday, Indians all over attacked the houses of cricketers, cursed them etc. They have another match today. So the pertinent question is :Why is it that as soon as India does badly the players are torn to shreds. Is this right? Where has the sportsmanship spirit gone now?

Good opinions posted here shall be published in TOI (the copy of the article shall be posted here on yahoo answers)
Please include your full name, city and state.

Thank you. Kindly cooperate.

hmm i think it's not correct because in prosperity everybody encourages but at time of adversity we people should really support our country ........ encourage them and not do such fullish acts which they did for saturday match .......... rather nobody wants to loose man but there are sometimes where defeat makes a man better !!

My 2 cents:

1.Cricket is the only popular sport in India and that promises frequent "wins". People tried to follow tennis when Sania Mirza entered in to some tournament but soon she started to fail..same thing happened with Anand, the chess guy, Limbaram, the archer Jaspal Rana the shooter, PT.Usha the athlete and hockey team..all the above got public attention by setting records domestically but failed to deliver internationally...Cricket is the only sport that promises periodical wins..

Reasons for recent uproar by fans:
1.Lot of unnecessary hype about cricketers from corporate world to gain from "ads"
2.Fans are really really tired of the team giving up matches without putting up any resistance..
3.Periodical claims of matches being "fixed" by bookies..
4.Fans expected to see India at least up to semi-final level..after all world cup is played only once every 4 years..

Had India won the first two matches and thus securing berth in to next round and then lost to sri lanka, the situation would have been not this unpleasant

I can't comment on India, but the same is true of other nations too. You only had to read any of the English papers after NZ beat us on Friday to understand that (and after our whitewashing in Australia for the Ashes). As soon as they win a match, they'll be heroes again.

Journalists are sensationalists.

In my view, Indian players needed more bad treatment after their defeat on Saturday. They needed more bad treatment.
Today's match they will win easily but SL is sure to defeat them. Indian layers play for their own reords and never as a team spirit and for their country.

It is not advisable to curse the player but due to some mischief whole country name has spoiled .Now see the whole country is not hatting the players and only one or two are hatting.
