A difference is huge.
Kantian ethics provides A REAL way to make decisions based on the categorical imperative: "Act only according to that maxim whereby you can at the same time will that it should become a universal law"
While the golden rule is an ambiguous rule of "treating someone as you would like to be treated."
Let me give you an example:
Say we are confronted with the classical philosophical problem -- "should you kill one human to save 2 others?"
Now Kantian ethic will lead you to a resounding "NO" because you cannot ever make a universal rule that you can kill a person -- no matter how great the reward is
Now, try to apply the golden rule -- and you will fond out that you can not.
Say you really do want to treat others as you want to be treated. So you cannot kill the man to save 2 because you will not want to be killed. But you also can not NOT KILL because if you were one of the 2 about to be saved you would want the person killed.
See, golden rule is nice, but it is really a faulty guide that does not resolve the most difficult cases.

The very sensible Jewish Rabbi Hillel became as quickly as challenged by using a stranger from an weird and wonderful land (colours of Robert Heinlein!) who stated that he would convert to Judaism if Rabbi Hillel could recite the full Torah status on one leg. So the good Rabbi stood on one leg and stated, "That this is hateful to you, do no longer do to a distinctive. this is the Torah, all else is assertion". this is the "Silver Rule". The stranger converted. in my opinion, I want that to the Golden Rule, this is slightly imprecise in evaluation. Taken mutually, nevertheless, they are encompassed in Matthew 22:37-40, "Love "god" with thy entire heart, thy entire potential, and thy entire concepts. Love your neighbor as your self. this is the regulation and the Prophets". I agree that I do additionally like "David" on the Iron Rule. all the super conquerors of history have practiced the Iron Rule. The have ruled by using the sword (or the main suitable firepower in recent times). The "Pax Romana became a classic occasion of the Iron Rule. advantages on your journey!
