I've just moved house, in my new garden there is a little silver ball (5cm diameter) stuck in the ground on a wooden stick at the side of the garden.
Does anyone have any idea what it might be, a cat or bird deterent maybe?
Thanks

These are very common in germany - its a witch deter-er! The old german tradition is that if a witch flys by at night she will see her reflection and think its another witches 'patch' so zoom away in the other direction - they sell them here at all the garden centers - some are HUGEE and cost a bomb but the normal ones as about the size of a tennis ball or slightyl larger - they are a real 'normal' garden acessory here in germany - funny eh :) Our vet has about 6 in her garden - the silver mirrored ones are the traditional types - then the modern ones can be green, red, yellow etc... i think you can buy them for about 20 pounds each for the small ones - not cheap as they are real glass.

What you see above the ground is an eye on a stalk. Below the ground is the rest of the massive alien ship, which landed whilst your vendors were selling the property.
The people you thought were the original owners were merely husks of humans, programed to obey subliminal orders from below! Did you get the impression they dropped the price or rent too readily?
The aliens want you to be there. You have something they want.
Just be careful when you're double digging this year. There may be things down there you would rather forget!

some two years ago the Government of Uzbekistan issued these free to gullible British people, saying they would attract
pretty birds like woodpeckers, gold **** etc into the garden..They are in fact devices to intercept mobile phone calls from Government officials and the like as they pass your area. The Home Office has offered a reward for each one handed in to the local police station. By the way mine didn't work, but unfortunately I binned the device before the rewards were announced.

It could be for both...cat and bird....but it could be something out of the ordinary. On a larger scale some people would hang silver paper on sticks in fields to attract skylarks to an alternative to partridges....for a menu.
