My son only played it at the local Walmart and thinks he might want it for his birthday...before ponying up the dough would like other's opinions on the game, both good and bad.

It's a good game. I got it for my dad last Christmas, and he loves it.

It's a game where you play the role of a rock star & play various well known rock songs. You play them on a specialized guitar controller.

I recommend Guitar Hero 2 because it's a little easier to play & has better tutorials than the first Guitar Hero game... Though the hardest mode is harder in the second game.

If you're worried about whether or not it's wholesome entertainment... It teaches the player a good sense of rhythm. However, being rock & roll, the lyrics are naturally not quite as wholesome... I personally wouldn't care about that, as it's just words after all, but I know some parents might.

its an awesome game! so much fun to play!
and if hes planning on playing real guitar it builds up the dexterity of your fingers tremendously
