His mother is Samoan, and her father, Peter Maivia, was a pro wrestler. His Cousins are Yokozuna (RIP), Umaga, Samu, Rikishi, and Rosey. His uncle is Jimmy Snuka. His father, Rocky Johnson, is black, he was a pro wrestler as well. The Wild Samoans (Afa and Sika) are blood brothers of his father, so they are more or less his uncles.

His Samoan mother was the daughter of High Chief Mavia (another former WWF/WWE wrestler), which is why The Rock was the first 3rd generation wrestler before Randy Orton became the second in WWE.
