I already am one, thanks. In my troupe we take turns doing the producing job. It's a terrible thing to have to do; it's a huge amount of work with absolutely no glory or artistic fulfillment attached to it. Nobody knows when you're doing your job well and everybody knows when you do it badly.

But it's got to be done, and I'm considered to be pretty good at it, so I get more than my fair share of turns. I'm happy to do it, both because it allows the show to go on and because I get a vicarious artistic thrill out of helping others pursue their craft.

Not me. I've never wanted to be involved in the financial end of the process, only the artistic end. What producers do is critically important in allowing the artistic personnel (directors, actors, designers, etc.) the freedom to do their thing, but...I'm just not interested.
