There are many things you can do in Phoenix or the surrounding area. We have a wonderful zoo, the botanical gardens are beautiful. You could go to a Diamondbacks game. If you like shopping, depending where you are staying and how much money you want to spend...there is the Scottsdale Fashion Square (PRICEY DESIGNER STORES with regular priced stores), The Arizona Mills are outlets in Tempe, The Arrowhead Mall in Peoria (is pretty basic mall) and Desert Ridge on the north side of Phoenix off the 101 is a fun place to go. You could spend a few hours at the Mystery Castle or tour Taliesin West (Frank Lloyd Wright's Architectural School). There is a HUGE park and swap at 40th Street and Washington. There is an amusement park called Castles and Coasters at I-17 and Peoria Avenue or go to Cracker Jack Family Fun and Sports Park in Scottsdale. The Ceretta Candy Factory in Glendale, AZ has a wonderful tour with the BEST candy, once you take the tour then go and see all the amazing homes that have been turned into antique shops in downtown Glendale...unbelievable what the people have done there. If you're looking for something different for food, there is The Pinnacle Peak Patio (don't wear a tie and don't order your meat well done!). If you like old west towns you can try Rawhide, it's got wonderful food and the shows that occur out on the street are so much fun, last time I was there my kids got to ride a covered wagon and there is a lot of fun there. There is a TON of stuff to do in Phoenix, don't let the naysayers tell you any different.

A lot of people are saying to go to Sedona and the Grand Canyon, and those are very good suggestions, but you might also want to take side trips to Montezuma Castle and Tuzigoot to check out some ruins. Phoenix itself of course has sports teams, zoo and museums like other cities, that you can go see. One unique thing to the Phoenix area is Miner's Camp, which is a restaraunt near the Superstition Mountains where they feed you family style like miners supposedely. It should be warm enough to go tubing down the Salt River which is a lot of fun, especially if you go with some friends and some beer! Also, you can check out the desert landscape by a nice air balloon ride or riding horses.

There are tons of things to do in Phoenix in May, here are a few:
Catch a AZ Diamondbacks game
http://arizona.diamondbacks.mlb.com/index.jsp?c_id=ari
Visit the Desert Botanical Gardens
http://www.dbg.org/
Golf is pretty cheap in the summer months due to the heat, but lots of courses are fairly well shaded and can be very nice in the early morning and late afternoon
Visit the museums: Phoenix Art Museum, Heard Museum, Science Museum
There are many hiking and biking trails throughout the city...just make sure you drink lots of water...
First Friday: The first Friday of every month downtown all the art studios open there doors and hundreds of people wander the streets viewing all the art and enjoying the cool night air.

Phoenix is fairly some thrilling. Your close to to l. a., San Di in the past and Vegas. in this time of three hundred and sixty 5 days it gained't get too chilly compared to different places. If Youre enormous activities fan we've the solar's and Cardinals. it really is hard to respond to your very last question because the marketplace is in simple terms undesirable today, even if it really is strong for shoppers. The club nights here are thrilling too. i exploit to stay in Atlanta and also you should spend round $30 formerly you even were given contained in the club. the in person-friendly words down area that I see in Phoenix is that the city isn't too different. in case you ask everybody from Phoenix that isn't note. in case you lived in different city's like enormous apple, l. a. you'll be conscious of what I advise. you gained't see fairly some people except for White and Hispanic you gained't see a lot else. except the traditional food chains, there at the instantaneous are not fairly some numerous meals that you'll in person-friendly words get right here in Phoenix.

Sedona is within a couple of hours drive. Vegas, Grand Canyon, Los Angeles are within about 5 hours drive. If you have nothing to do, Tombstone is driveable but there is not much there - there is a re-enactment but that's about it. Scottsdale is a nice place to go drinking. Desert Ridge shopping mall has a nice Malay rest but can't remember what it's called (Malees?). There's a good Indian on 16th about a couple of miles from Northern Avenue.

I recommend visiting Sedona (it's on the way to Grand Canyon). It's only a couple hours from Phoenix and makes for a great day trip. If you like hiking, spend the day there and you'll have plenty of trails to choose from (from easy to hard). Visit http://www.gatewaytosedona.com/ for more info and for coupons.
