I can tell you that a sprain hurts worse than a break.
I used to play basketball and sprain my ankles ALL the time.
When I was younger, I broke my left ankle. I was walking on it with almost no limp. I told my teacher it was broken and she laughed and said you can't walk on it when it's broken. Sure enough, my parents took me to the ER that night and it was.
Like others said, and I'm sure you already know, get it checked out by a doctor. I hope it feels better soon!!

Get to a doctor and get an x-ray. You could have a hairline fracture that, if left untreated, could heal the wrong way and cause pain in your ankle the rest of your life. Better to be cautious then sorry...get to an ER or a doc.

Usually if you can put pressure on it, it's not broken, but there's a possibility that it's fractured. I would go and get it x-rayed to be sure. A sprain usually does not disfigure the way a body part looks, it will swell and bruise with a sprain though.

A fracture can only be determined by xray studies. Movement of an extremity or finger, ability to walk etc is NEVER a good indicator that there is no fracture. Folks have been known to walk on fractures that have healed and never even knew it was there.

You should probably go to the doctor because when I sprained my ankle it didn't hurt as much as yours seems to be hurting you! If it is sprained it is probably like really close to being broken. Get it cheked out would be my best advice.

Disfigured? You need to go to the ER and get it xrayed. You may have a fracture even though you can put some weight on it.

You need an x-ray.
Everyone's pain tolerance is different....some people can still walk with it broken.
