The State University of New York College at Oswego GREAT LAKERS captured their first ever NCAA National Championship by defeating three time defending champion Middlebury in DIII hockey on Sunday (3/18). Are their any Oswego Alumni (or for that matter Middlebury alumni) out there who would like to comment on this historic event?

I'm an Oswego Alum and I've been a die hard Laker hockey fan since my freshman year in Fall of '99. I cannot describe how proud I am of this team. Being a fan over the years you get used to them just barely not reaching their full potential and this team finally did it. My friends and I were jumping around shrieking after watching Garren Reisweber put away that OT goal against Midd to win it. I think most of us still haven't come down off the high and the town has signs up everywhere you look. Let's Go Lakers!!!!

Hey, I'm not an alum; I'm a sophomore at OSU right now, but I think it's absolutely spectacular that our Lakers finally won a championship! I love going to home games, and so does most everyone I know, including tons of people from the community. if you listened to the game yesterday, there were a dedicated bunch of Zoo Crew members that decided to spend their spring break in Wisconsin cheering our team on. The hockey team is something that brings the whole school together, the new arena is gorgeous, and the team is and has been spectacular for years. Now we have something to prove it! Here's to an amazing first season in the Campus Center Complex and many more to come!
