I can't give you website addresses honey, but I can give you first hand accounts of how having a prostitute as a mother affects your life....

At the tender age of just 4 yrs old I can recall my first image of men queuing up the stairs of the "Brothel" I then lived in with my mother & 4 other women with their children plus unbelievably the husbands of these prostitutes as well......my father was her pimp & would have to move the "clients" from out of my way as I attempted to climb the stairs to my bedroom after arriving home from school each evening.

I saw & heard stuff that no 4 yr old should be seeing or hearing. I had been sexually abused twice by the age of 6 by friends of my mother who had been left to care for me!!!!….My brother, sister & I were locked in bedrooms for days on end while my mother went about her “business”
I've witnessed my mother be beaten to an inch of her life because the punter wanted his money back after having sex with my mother...

At the age of nearly 7…….I was taken from my mother along with my brother & placed into children’s homes in need of care & protection where we spent our unhappy childhood.....yes! Life was better & I was well taken care of but I still missed my mother every day that went by…..no-one can replace the emotional needs a child has.

By the age of 9 I was placed in a government funded private boarding school where I got an excellent education, but not after I'd been separated from my Brother & younger sister. I kept contact with my mother while growing up & was allowed to spend some holidays at home……

At the age of 14 I was sent home to live with a woman I didn’t really know, a woman I had no respect for at all…….I started as an apprentice hairstylist at the age of 16 & would return home to find that my mother & her then husband [her 5th] had been arrested for illegal drugs & I would have to go & bail them out from the local police station….drugs were handed around our house like candy….strangely enough although at the age of 17 I did try some marijuana, I never actually got into the drug taking that was going on.
I hate the feeling of not being in control of myself & hated the feeling of being “out of it” so in many ways perhaps my childhood also had a silver lining. A couple of my mother’s friends children became highly addicted to the use of drugs & one little girl that had been with me as a child living in our first brothel, went on to be found dead at the age of 17 in the local toilets from a drugs overdose. I knew back then that “there but for the grace of God go I”
My brother ended up as a heroin addict funded would you believe by my mother & spent many years in & out of prison…he’s finally sorted his life out now & has been clear of drugs for the past 10 years, my sister never did get an education & has been in one unhappy relationship after the other, she faired worse than us because she was actually brought up completely by our mother whereas at least we were taken out of it all.

Prostitution tears families apart like nothing else, the kids involved are more often than not, neglected in so many ways....the porn, the drugs, the abuse that goes on produces a mixture of dysfunctional family home life that in turn makes it so hard for the children having once grown into adults to somehow lead a normal life....it took me years to sort out exactly how to be a "normal" mum to my kids….you may find this funny but I actually learned how to be a mum by watching adverts on the TV….I saw from these adverts that I was to wash clothes & iron them & produce healthy meals too, don’t get me wrong here, it’s not like the boarding school didn’t teach that stuff but boarding schools are not focused around every day family life are they?...

I didn't follow in my mothers footsteps, I knew from a very young age that wasn't the life for me & I also knew I wouldn't be bringing my children up the same as my mother had.....I’ve got 5 children, ones married to a policeman, ones training to be a fireman, the youngest is still at college taking media studies, English literature, Philosophy & business studies…..My eldest Son is a tattoo artist & a damned good one at that while he brings up his little boy by himself. My youngest Daughter is a florist plus a busy mum. I’m proud of all my kids but it’s been a hard slog getting some normality into my life……

I would think that the majority of families who have a prostitute as a member had already shunned that person along time ago, before they ever knew that would happen.

They're probably haters. They hated the child in the start, and when they find out, they just think "It figures. She was always an idiot."

As with many other things family with those that have criminal tendancies are always affected. Of course it sounds to me your talking of the lowest level in the sex trade but in the upper class like escorts or a lady that works the Bunny Ranch in Nevada the family's may look at those somewhat differently.

Well, their children are usually taken away from them and out in foster care. I had an aunt who was an addict and at times, a prostitute. She was then in jail for a time afterwords. My cousin was forced to be the adult, and now has custody of her brother. My aunt dies of an overdose by the way,

I imagine that the families are affected quite a bit by the fact that one of their family members is a prostitute. It would affect me.
