Amenorrhea (absence of menstruation)
Over the years most women are likely to skip a period or two now and again, especially during times of stress. The holidays, special occasions, deadlines, changes in relationships, grieving, and traveling are just a few of life’s inevitable ups-and-downs that can alter your menstrual cycle. Just about any blip in your routine can cause you to have an anovulatory cycle — where you don’t produce an egg. This makes sense, when you think about it. Mother Nature is a great conservator, and when your life is off-kilter, it may not be an ideal time for your body to expend resources on offspring!
Given that this is a perfectly natural biological response, a missed period once or twice a year is a very common thing and nothing to worry about. But when you’re skipping periods on an ongoing basis, it’s a clear sign that the underlying imbalance is more profound — not just the result of a new job, moving house, or an unannounced visit from
A poor diet or nutrition can account for missed and irregular menstrual cycles. Other causes would be Stress and hormonal imbalance. And in your case, most likely, is the fact that you 're dieting; which causes nutritional deficiencies. Other causes would be anemia, iron deficiency anemia, infections, increased levels of exercises; such as in female athletes, . drastic weight loss or severe dieting; illness and or obesity.
Amenorrhea can be caused by a variety of things, including:
Depression
Malnutrition and low body fat
Drugs, such as antidepressants and tranquilizers
Obesity
Emotional or physical stress
Pregnancy
Heavy exercise
Hormonal irregularities
Breast feeding
Chronic illness
post surgery: hysterectomy or /and salpingooophorectomy( removal of ovaries and /or fallopian tubes)
In more uncommon cases, cysts or tumors in the ovary can cause amenorrhea. It can also take time for periods to resume
after birth control, especially Depo-Provera (which can take anywhere from several months to 32 months).

Try to eat small meals more often during the day and take a vitamin supplement to make sure that you're getting the nutrition you need.Even if you're not hungry, your body needs the protein so you can grow. You're so young, you don't want the problems that can come from eating unhealthy-trust me!Sometimes you have to train your body to acept the food it needs.

yes it can be, if your not healthy than your organs are not going to preform the way the should. You should also consider being checked out by a Dr. because this could mean a number of other things like-Ovarian cyst, pelvic inflammatory disease, stress, and depression just to name a few. Any how you really should try to eat more because chances are you may already be anemic.Good luck!

hey. well yeah you need to eat. maybe ur allergic to some foods that u normally consume and that might be making u less hungry. try eating more vegetables, fruits, whole grains, lean meats- salmon, chicken breast, and cultured yogurt. drink plenty of water. take a good multivitamin and extra B complex. Also if you don't have 10% body fat, u will miss your period. try eating smaller meals and don't overeat when you eat a meal. you can do it girl!

If I knew who you were I'd tell your mother. You're going to eventually kill yourself if you don't eat more. Your body is telling you that something is wrong already by you not getting your period.
