Just heard an american say how Real madrid are the best team in the worl as they have the best players in the world, and he mentioned in the list Van Nistolroy, Beckham, Carlos, Raul and Ronaldo.
First of all they were prob the best players 8 years ago and also has it not reached America yer that 1, Ronaldo is no longer at Madrid and 2, real have not won anything for 4 years
once again 4 years and no trophy! thats poor for the BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD! LOL
What is with this sily American idear that status make you a footballer and not Skill?
you only as good as you last job and real's team of has beens is proof enought of that!

For starters the Americans call the game soccer when it is called Football in the rest of the world
Secondly, an American making an informed decision on football is like me making an informed decision on brain surgery
Ronaldo is one of the best footballers in the world at the moment - The guy just got the wrong one at the wrong club!
Everyone knows the Premiership is the best league in the world to play football

I get your point. But my opinion is, just let 'm be.
It's obviously impossible for them to have a very up to date view on the topic, especially with all the hype happening in Europe all the time.
People outside the US tend to think NY Yankees are best baseball team - well, how many World Series have they won in the past 5 years ? See my point?
Like you say, you're only seen as good as the results and titles you can put on paper - especially in distant places.
