The person sitting next to me is suppose to be a "good" friend of mine. Whenever she gets around my other friends or her boyfriend all she wants to do is hurt me, and embarrass me. What is going on?

She is not a good friend. Good friends would never make their friend feel bad no matter what. She might feel you are not cool enough to hang out with her or she might think it impresses her bf and your other friends to be mean to you. But I am sure it doesn't impress them because then they would be mean too. Also, she might feel jealous of you and is hurting you out of envy. I don't even know this girl so I can't give you the best advice. Ask your other friends and see if she is secretly mad at you. Overall I would slowly (or quickly) grow apart from her and find a different friend thatwould never hurt you and likes you for who you are. This is all a part of growing up and everybody goes though it.

Sounds like she's not a very good friend. Sometimes people take another's friendship for granted and hurt them because they feel miserable inside. Talk to her about it and if she doesn't change stop being around her. Good Luck!

Sounds like she's jealous. Some people think to make others look bad makes them look good. Doesn't sound like she's much of a friend. Have a true heart to heart with her and maybe she'll see what's she is doing and will stop. Good luck.

Second..she is insecure. The way to make herself feel better is to put you down. It makes her feel like she is better than you. That other people think she is better than you. It sucks, but you have two options at this point. Tell her to knock it off, or not rock the boat and take it. Don't sink to her level though. Then you look like an ***.

maybe she likes to be the center of everybody's attention that's why she tends to do anything in order to make her self look better and to make u look worse .. anyway , all u have to do is to confront her with ur feelings ... let's see what's her point of view is , why is she doing that in the first place ? otherwise , if this doesn't work with her then all u have to do is to fight back , don't let her embarass u no matter what , on the contrary , by ur manners and nice character let the bad side of her personnality appears in front of everybody ...let her see what u have been going through .. good luck

Your friend feels like she needs to be mean around other people because when you are gone, they say mean things behind your back, so when they are all around you she gets on the bandwagon and cuts you down

maybe she is trying to show u down.
this normally happens when one of the friend is better than the other.
i think u should try to allow her to beat u in some game or a test. or u could even behave EXTRA nice with her.

Sounds like she has some envy issues going on...it belongs to her....try being more kind to her...it takes allot of energy to maintain hostility

She's definately jealous of you - I used to do this too when I was jealous of a friend, until I realised that I was making a complete idiot of myself instead of her! so i stopped! now everyone is happy ... :)
