Yes, I agree with you. I don't think we should ever forget what those brave people went through, however, using it today to get what they want is wrong! It kills me when young black people try to use the slavery card. They have never been slaves or suffered like those people did. They should honor their ancestors instead of trying to use it to get somewhere or something. It's time to take responsibility for their own lives and their own actions and make something of themselves.

Some will do anything for attention. Really would those that say how awful slavery was and don't get me wrong being in chains and getting whipped with no freedom isn't my way of thinking. But Really Would those that complain like to just move back to Africa and live in those villages with no Electric, Heating or Cooling, Water that might not be safe, Not knowing what or where your next meal would be, genocide possibly knocking on your villages door or your door, without even a platform to complain?

Sure, there are a few individuals in America who take advantage of the history of slavery for their own self-pity, but the fact of the matter is that there is still and incredible amount of racial prejudice in this country. I guess it varies from individual to individual.

At the end of the day, the African-American community is responsible for their own success.

Of course it is. You were never a slave. Do you know of any family member that was? You dont have to be tied down to the past. Its not happening to you and never will. Dont think that there are no sucessful blacks out there, because there are and you could be one of them. And you will not have to work harder than anyone else, thats just false. Im rooting for you.

I do think that. I agree with you 100%. And it's not because I'm racist. I'm just not fooled.
