My computer ran fine yesterday and then I shut it down overnight. Went to start it up in the morning and it turns on for 2 sec and shuts downs. Everything is only about 1 1/2 month old.

Listen for beeps coming from the computer, that could help in what is the issue. If you can get into the BIOS that will give you PS voltages, if not you are going to need a multimeter to check them. Normally when there is a quick start then shut down it is a heat issue or bad component.

First which brand of computer are you using try contacting the manufacturer....otherwise provide some more information like when it shuts down does it load into windows or if shuts down before any windows screen comes up...or there any beep noises from the system...or any other messages on the screen...

Start with checking your power strip. If the is not your problem then I would take the comuter back to where you purchased it becausde it sounds like the power supply went bad.
