well i'm down to 32 out of 120. i notice the drop in speed. but if it slows down to the point it annoys you, try removing some programs. also if your goin to be removing programs, buy and download "Ace Utilities." it's to help clean up your registry. trust me it really helps

Yes it could be the cause. I would recommend that you also defrag your hard drive this will help as well.
Try to move all of your files that you can to an external back up and delete them from you drive. After you cleaned up as much as possible then run your Defrag.

First I would do a disk cleanup then I would do disk defrag. the defrag puts things in order makes windows run a little faster. also I would look into getting some memory.memory has a bit to do with making your computer a little faster also the speed of your processer has alot to do with speed.I would also go in a delete programs you no longer need.

On your hard drive, your operating system (Windows) manages virtual memory to store processes. If there is no space or less space on your hard disk, your OS will not be able to store as much process as needed hence it will affect the performance of your PC.

Its time to invest in another drive.......
Windows requires at least 15% of free drive space to defrag the hard drive....Do you defrag your drive? If not this will also slow you down quite a bit....

freeing up your hard disk space will definetely increase the speed...you can alternatively use the disk clean up wizard under all programs>>>accessories>>>system tools...to clean up your hard disk and also try defragmenting the drive from the same place which will help the comp run faster....
