Maybe the doofus above me should go back to the fishing categories...
First of all, that car has a 6 digit odometer, so the mileage isn't 145,678. Second, this is a simple car with great reliability. I bought one for my 17 year old son with 100,000+. He loves it. If it does break down, see the post in the toyota group for the guy who had to pay $500 for a sensor, and still has problems. Then compare what you paid. I think you'll find it was a lot less.
Good luck, and watch out for cops. They seem to love red cars!

well, it's a decent car engine wise, i wouldn't expect the head gasket to run out until at least 177,000 (that's when it went on mine) but i have noticed that almost every pontiac sunfire i've seen (especially the red ones...randomly) are dented in some way, i think it has to do with the serious blind spots in the car. just be really careful driving it.

good car but you do not say what year it is, are you sure it is not 145,678 miles? if it is old I'm sure it is. yes they will last that long and more because they are American. I have an Oldsmobile (both Pontiac and Oldsmobile are made by GM) with over 310,000 miles on it and I have NEVER had any engine repairs except tune ups and oil changes.

LMFAO
I wanna know how much you like it the first time it breaks down. How much you like it when you drop your first $500 for a "tune up".
Boy-o there is more to owning a car than the colour.

that mostly depends on how well you take care of it. if you keep the maintenance up on it. you should be able to drive the car for 200,000 mile or more. if you don't race it,
