Had my first child at 17. Spent until I was 40 with kids at home. Ended up dealing with ( and loving ) being a single mom after age 30 until 40. ( 2000 )
I met my husband that year and married in 2003.. but for all this time I have been too busy to ever find a female friend except old friends from high school who are 200 miles away. So, now I have some time and no kids at home. Hubby has his friends and hobbies. I'd like to know the best way to meet some female friends. Is it too late?
Oh, and I'm sure someone will want to mention church. I appreciate the thought but I have no use for any of that. I'd be lying if I went and pretended to believe any of it.

Are you crafty at all? Take some classes in painting, scrap booking, stained glass....you'd be surprised how many women are there just to get out socially with others the same age. That's where I have met all my friends.

I don't have any answers...I'm looking for friends too. I'm 38 and my best friend from HighSchool and I communicate almost each and every day, but I'm so busy with my kids that it is hard to find friends in my current present life -- my best HS friend lives 10+ hours drive away...good thing for IM and email and phones, or I'd be really lonely!

I'm interested in what you find out though....e.g., I'm wondering how the "dating service" comment applies b/c I thought those were just for finding romantic relationships -- and I already have a hubby that I'm totally in love with. For some reason though, that love doesnt completely fill my need for some female friends....

Anyway, best wishes....Lari

I'm 32 and have 2 kids,no friends and I'm not married , I'm divorced. It's hard for me to have time to do anything that doesnt involve work and kids. But my guess is wherever you go the most try to make a friend there

Dating services get right to the point. All common interests are laid on the table on the first day.

try joining your local "y" they have a lot of groups or clubs you could join or you could go to the library and see what clubs they to join(you'd be surprised to find out what really go on at "bookclub" meetings) they could be alot of fun! anyways good luck!
