If no one's around to scratch it for me, i'll usually use a door facing or find something to scratch it with. The pointy end of a toothpaste tube works well, as does a hairbrush. Interesting question.

if you have sharp fingernails, you will feel the itch will be gone and relieved. some people's arms may not be long enough to reach where you back is itching
