Emo's are stereotyped as depressed people who cut, and have dark hair that covers 3/5 of their face, they wear converse, girl pants, and tight shirts. Okay, who came up with that. So, not true. Not even close. And emo person is someone who feels emotions very strongly. Hint, the word emo. Whether it be happy, sad, mad, whatever. And they don't have to dress or look a certain way either! Also, not all emo's cut. Some do some don't. Cutting, writing, going off alone, whatever, they do it as a way to express their emotion or release what they feel.

Word could be mispelled - and should be emu instead of emo. An emu is a large bird.
Of course it could be that emo has a an M missing and the word was intended to be Memo as in short note.
But have absolutely no idea what emo could be.

Emo really is a music style [emotional hardcore] but now it's kinda style. They have their lifestyle [they r amotional, usually music is everything for them, a lot of close minded people think that they HAVE to cut theirselves and to be depressed. but they don't HAVE to be like that. Emo can be just thoughtfull and emotional. they r in touch with their feelings.], they wear eyeliner all over the eyes [even boys[don't u think it's cute? xD]], emos usually have black hair, their fringe covers one ore both eyes, hair are spiked in the end. they wear tight pants, vintage shirts, converse or vans. Well I could explain musch more, but I think that I told the point. ;]]

It's just some idiotic name the kids are using these days to describe narcissistic teenagers who all look alike and listen to the same crappy punk-pop bands and pretend to have emotional problems. It derives from emo music which started in the 80's as kind of a hardcore punk thing and has since gradually devolved into today's hair metal.

If one is "emo", one is especially emotional or deprssed about common things. The word is acctually an abbreviation of the word emotional.

it originally meant 'emotional rock', now meaning a person or group of people that associate themselves with that type of music, wear a certain type of clothing(also called trendies - trucker cap, silly lip piercing, tight stripy tshirts, tight jeans and skate trainers, sweat band)
