The Milwaukee JournalSentinel here in WI is making it their policy NOT to report the race of the suspects because it is not PC to do so.

It is a very liberal newspaper and this Newspaper is a MAJOR factor as to why I am turned off to most liberal thinking.
When they do articles for Mother's Day and such...it is most likely going to be an inner city unwed mom with 12 kids and 10 different dads and they tell us how wonderful her family is and how hard she struggles to raise them on welfare.

The newspaper should report the FACTS and the MJS is just giving us their opinion and what THEY want us to hear.

Soon they will have to report a "suspect" and that's it. No sex, no race, no height, no size, no weight, no tats, no hair color. The story will read "Police are looking for a suspect. Report anyone who might be a suspect in your area."

I'm a liberal and I fully agree that they should disclose the race of a wanted criminal so that we can find him or her. That is like not mentioning their gender or age, which I suppose both of those could be considered not PC as well. However, I don't like your tone on the subject. I'm not on welfare and I don't condone "lifers" either. Stop assuming that all liberals think a certain way. Do you know any? It doesn't sound like you've sat down and spoken with one lately. Rather you are just repeating the same conservative jargon.

Oh and for Savage: If you are going to use the "N" word - learn how to spell it!!! I think you're a stupid redneck.

How are you going to find someone if you don't know what they look like? What if it's a rape or bank robbery and the suspect spoke with a particular accent? To omit that information leaves the public at risk.

There's nothing racist in that. What if the guy was Irish and spoke with an Irish accent? I'm full Irish and would not take the least offense if it helped catch a criminal.

YES!!! This is a politicaly correctness sickness thats sweeping the nation. I cannot ID a red shirt and blue pants. I can ID a black male 6' tall with a scar over his right eye and a moustache. And yes, the Oh this is so wonderful when its not syndrome. Do what we do here. Write and complain to your paper. The squeeky wheel gets the grease. I recommend a book: The Marketing of Evil for more eye opening info on this disease.

I think that race is important for a police officer to apprehend a suspect. What are they going to do if a police officer says "Yes, we're looking for a male in his late 30's".... ok that narrows it down.

However; when it comes to reporting the crimes in the newspaper..... I feel that it may not be completely necessary to divulge the race of the perpetrator or wrong-doer. I mean, when you read the newspaper is it really that important for you to know the race of the person who robbed the 7-11 down the street? All that will do is give you a race to "curse" when you read it....... "Oh those damn african americans! Oh those damn caucasians!" (By the way, where is Caucasia? I'd love to visit the motherland one day!) or "Those damn asians!" ....and so on, you get the point.

lets see which description of a suspect will probably get the best and most reliable leads. the suspect was a man 6'2" dark hair between 200 and 250lbs with a tattoo on his wrist. or suspect was a white man 6'2" blah blah blah. you see by adding that it was a white man i just eliminated every black buy asain, hispanic, or whatever else that is 6'2" and between 200 and 250lbs with a tattoo on his wrist from the suspect pool. in my city i just cut it from about 6 thousand people to maybe a thousand. just by telling you what race the guy was. this is irresponsible journalism

For some reason liberals don't want to mention race unless they're dealing with affirmative action or diversity quotas. I'm not sure why. Each race (although being equal) has certain appearance traits which would undoubtedly help in locating the perpetrator of a crime. I think mentioning the race of the suspect makes sense.

A Full objective description of the suspect should be given. It is impossible to know which race a suspect is from other than appeared to be Asian or appeared to be "Black." "Just the facts" as Sgt Friday would have said.

I hope that if it is a "little person" they leave that out too... cause someone might take offense

and Christina F.. you are such a hypocrite.. you just get done telling someone not to make generalizations about someone, and you go ahead and call someone a stupid redneck. I'm a redneck and take offense to that, I don't use the n-word, but by calling that person a redneck you generalize that all rednecks use that word... HYPOCRITE
