The lever down by the driver's feet won't click open the hood door - it seems as though it is jammed. I don't want to pull it too hard because the handle may break. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have had the same problem but not with a Fiat. Take it your local garage and they will open it for you, this is what i had to do. It more than likely needs a new cable. Not that expensive to replace.

Oh dear, I have no sympathy in bying a Fiat Punto,
Quite frankly, you gets what you buys.
They are cr^p.
I am not suprised that the twiddly thing to open the bonnet is knackered, probably because the cable is stretched.
Sell the item, and be well rid of it !
Cheers,
Bob
