Is it a problem when the media praises the efforts of the enemy?

Freedom of speech is a treasure not easily regained once relinquished. It's not clear that 'resilient' implies praise in any case. Is it necessary to remind you that one man's insurgent is another man's freedom fighter? The coalition went into war because it suspected Saddam Hussein of having WMD; he didn't. The occupation was badly planned and executed; life for ordinary Iraqis is now much worse than it was under Saddam, and it's no wonder that old rivalries have started to emerge - Iraq is a created nation - and that because a great many of them have seen far too much brutality and ill-treatment they're resisting with whatever means they happen to have - just as any other country would if it found itself destroyed, occupied, and with little hope for its future.

Yes, it is a huge problem and has been for some time. Even of a person disagrees with the conflict, they should never aid the enemy by such reporting and engaging in anti-American propaganda. Its the old addage, if you don't have anything nice to say, keep quiet.

It means they cannot be beat because their determination is psychologically debilitating.
