The Chargers were projected the next Super Bowl contenders before they lost their assistant coaches and Marty. Norv Turner is a great offensive mastermind and should alleviate the offense that is already dynamic with L.T., Antonio Gates, and rising star Philip Rivers. The defense is their primary conflict. During the entire regular season and postseason, their secondary is where there terrible. They should have tried attain Ron Rivera, former bears coordinator and currently 49ers def, coordinator.

The Chargers should be just as good as last year, if not better. Although I think Marty Schottenheimer got the shaft, Norv Turner is probably the best thing that can happen to a young quarterback like Phillip Rivers. If they can come up with a good receiving corps during this off season and keep the nucleus of the 2006 team (LT, Merriman, etc.) I think that you may see San Diego in the Super Bowl.

Not verry good. Merriman better start juicing now to make up for the Loss of Donnie Edwards. They might come on late in the season but that is it. I don't think they will be fully ready for the playoffs for 1 reason is all the coaching changes. so everyone will have to learn a new system

10-6. They lost their head coach and other staff members. The Chargers also will have a very tough schedule due to their 14-2 season last year.

There shouldn't be much of a drop-off, I'd expect 11 or 12 wins but no way will they repeat that 14-2 season. I'm sure they'd trade less wins for a championship.

As a long time Chiefs fan, I can tell you that you are much better off without Schottenslimer. The Chargers may not win as many games next year, but they will win in the playoffs.
