Mile (1.60934 km)
An Imperial unit of length sometimes also called the
statute mile and equal to 5280 feet. It is also equal to (5280)(12)(2.54)/105 = 1.60934 = kilometers, which is surprisingly close to ! Another mnemonic used by rowers is that 2 km is close to 1.25 miles (2/1.25 = 1.6 km/mile). There are 640 acres in a square mile.

Strange the the americans are coming up with this 1.60 number... not suggesting it's wrong but In England, 1 mile is equal to 1.62 kilometres. Unless you are talking about nautical miles. 1 nautical mile is equal to 1.15 statute miles. I will let you convert this to kilometres
