An airplane? A train? How about a submarine?

Even though I'm not claustrophobic, I couldn't deal with the submarine. I'm gonna have to go with the "tank," but one with more windows than your standard models. I hope my neighbors won't mind me rippin up the turf (and roads).

If it got me there in the same amount of time, then I would take the train. In the northeast corridor between DC and New York, the train is much faster than driving, and if you consider all the mess you have to go through to get on a plane these days, the train takes about the same amount of time as flying. When I was in college, when Amtrack was still really cheap, I used to take the train home from school (Newport News to DC) and also take the train from dad's to mom's (DC to Providence). It was way cheaper than flying, faster than driving, and I could get up and get a snack, stretch, or go to the bathroom whenever I wanted to. I went cross country on a train once during the holidays and I woudn't recommend it. 3 days on a train surrounded by screaming children and b*tchy smelly people is just not worth it.

Walking. It's nice to be outdoors in the sun and coming across different people and being active at the same time.
Or trains. I love to watch people on trains and make up stories for their lives, where they're going and where they've been. And it's so good for the environment.

What about just enjoying the trip....as well as anticipating the destination. Sometimes it's the journey itself that is the pleasure. You don't list it but I think I would go by horse...at least I could see some of my surroundings on the way to my destination.

I would prefer to walk than take any other form of transportation. Enjoying the sweet outdoors is beneficial to the health.

Why can't I use my car ? I guess a submarine, Planes crash and Trains crash. Don't hear many Submarines crash
