That right there is a loaded question. There are a million way to grade each and every arena in the NHL. Ease of getting around the building, how they move people, all the way down to the parking around the arena. You have to look at the ice surface as some have better then other (MSG back in the 90's I remember had one of the worst surfaces I've seen, same in both Florida locations). I don't think there is a way to say which one is better, obviously the newer ones (Buffalo, Minn., Columbus...) are going to be one step head of the older ones, (Pitt., Detroit...)

Joe Louis Arena, Det. Michigan is the best rink, and I have been to quite a few around the league. The fans in Hockeytown are so loud and ferocious, teams that visit are often disturbed by them.

Everytime I go up to Minnesota for a game, I marvel at the Excel Energy Center.

It's so new and it's made for hockey. The fans have an incredible energy and they know the game. I'm a Dallas Stars fan, we were up there in January for a 9 round shootout game. They were standing for the OT and the shootout, it was so nervewracking but so thrilling.

Maple Leaf Gardens and Montreal Forum. Even though they are a thing of the past, they are still the best. The Buffalo Aud was awesome also, especially with the yellow railings.
